1. What BetBuddy Is

BetBuddy is a social app where friends create private groups and place bets using fake money (no real currency is involved). Everyone starts with a virtual $1,000 balance. No real gambling takes place.

2. Information We Collect

• Email address — used for sign-in via magic link (passwordless authentication).
• Profile information — first name, last name, and username you provide during onboarding.
• Profile photo — optional, uploaded by you.
• Usage data — bets created, wagers placed, group memberships, and in-app activity necessary to operate the service.
• Device token — if you enable push notifications, we store your device token to send alerts about bet activity.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you and maintain your session.
• To display your profile to other group members.
• To operate the betting and group features of the app.
• To send push notifications about bets and group activity (if enabled).

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely on Supabase infrastructure (hosted on AWS). Profile images are stored in Supabase Storage. All data is transmitted over HTTPS.

5. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at the email below.

6. Third-Party Services

• Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage (Supabase Privacy Policy).
• Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) — for delivering push notifications.

7. Children's Privacy

BetBuddy is not intended for children under 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Your Rights

You may request to access, update, or delete your personal data at any time by contacting us. You can also delete your profile photo and update your name and username within the app.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
